Hemoptysis is the expectoration of blood or of blood-stained sputum from the bronchi, larynx, trachea, or lungs (e.g. in tuberculosis or other respiratory infections). This can be due to lung neoplasm, tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, coccidioidomycosis, or pulmonary embolism.
